This year’s spring golf tournament took place at the local Delta Golf Course off of Highway 10. With an early 10:15 tee off, we were well underway by noon. Sold out, other than for Walter’s last minute cancellation due to medical reasons, we had a prefect golf day. Slightly overcast, but no sign of rain or drizzle and it cleared up by the time we moved to the back side, holes 10 to 18.
Following the tournament, all but three golfers headed to our President’s home in North Delta for the BBQ. We were joined by three club members who did not golf, so we still had a full group for the awards, the BBQ and the evening.
I must thank Shannon and Ryan for stepping in to add up the scores and to Bruce Chadwick for running the awards ceremony as well as for providing so many golf prizes-shirts, golf hats, golf extras galore, and the many other items for longest drive(s), closest and furthest from the pin, most greens from the tee shot and all the other things the PSC hand out awards–no one went home empty-handed.
Bruce must also be thanked for the perfect burgers and hot dogs he cooked over the hot BBQ, Walter not being there to lend a hand, as on must of our parties.
As the summer twilight arrived, we fired up a brand new fire pit, albeit 1st used at Tracey’s Garden BBQ June 6th, and one we also took with us to EC Manning, June 24-26. It not only gives the evening a comforting, flickering glow, but this new pit, with openings all around the side of the fire pit, puts out much more heat than those where the chamber only has a few holes near or at the bottom.
Betty Walker made her great Pasta Salad while all the trimmings for an outdoor BBQ were most plentiful. Everyone went home well fed.
The Chateau Von Stefan wines, both the dark, red Concord and the white Vidal were not only a part of the awards prizes, but they were a big hit with everyone who tasted them–9 bottles were found empty the next day!!!
Our next tournament is he 3rd Annual Richard Gaudreau Fall Classic–check it out on our website.
